Dumbbell Nebula is a planetary nebula i.e. remains of a dying star. The red color is hydrogen gas clouds, and the greenish blue color consists of nitrogen and oxygen as well. This nebula is about 1360 light years away and is about a light year wide.
I have taken this image in the past, but, came back to it as I was not happy with my previous work….. (see the second image).
Took this image over about 10.5 hours (Luminance 38 images of 10 minutes each & 9 RGB images each of 10 minutes). This image is also cropped by 20%.
I took this nebula from my new telescope, which of course looks much smaller because of lower magnification.
Imaged on SV130 f/6.6 & QSI 683wsg. Processed using StarXTerminator.
Integration time is: L – 10min x 5 and RGB of 9 each of 5 min.
