Venus and Jupiter happened to be pretty much next to each other last night. It doesn’t mean that they are close to each other. Venus is ~225 million KMs (1.5 AU) and Jupiter is right behind it about 4 times further @6.3 AU i.e. 980 million KMs. Such close conjunction won’t happen again till 2065.
The focus was not perfect, as I lost my eyeglasses couple of hours ago and Dharaa helped me as I was pretty much blind while we did this. This was our astronomy detour during Outer Banks mini-vacation.
